Southampton & District Canine Association Summer Show
June 14th/15th 2008
Southampton and District Canine Association held its annual two day show at the lovely venue of The Royal Victoria Country Park, Netley, we are very fortunate to have such a wonderful area to hold the show. It has acres of grass to walk dogs, the sea shore and panoramic views of the Solent with passing cruise liners, all add to the ambience of the show.
At Southampton we try to have a good mix of breed specialists and all rounders, and to keep as wide breed classification as is possible. This year we were fortunate to secure the services of Tom Mather, popular and well respected all rounder as our Best in Show judge.
Although entries were slightly down, a current trend with fuel prices so high, classes were reasonably well filled across the board.
The officers and committee work very hard to put on a successful show and to create an atmosphere that is enjoyable for the exhibitors, and of course the dogs.
Plans are underway for our centenary show in 2011, but if anyone has any suggestions as to what they would like the committee to put on for this milestone in the association's history please e mail the secretary
