Victoria Country Park, Netley is known locally as the Royal Victoria Hospital, as it once was a very large hospital complex built in Queen Victoria’s reign to treat the many casualties from the Crimean war through to WW2. The hospital was demolished in the mid sixties, leaving the chapel and tower, this now becoming the focal point of the park. The park itself has many fine walks along tree lined avenues and its foreshore gives panoramic views of the busy Southampton waterway. Southampton & District Canine Association hosts its two day open show at this venue which makes a stunning backdrop for the show. There is ample parking, tea rooms, children’s play area, narrow gauge railway and the park is dog friendly.
Why not enter your dog into one of the breed classes and come along and join us for the day taking in the atmosphere of the show and enjoying the amenities of the parks surrounding area.
